Quartz is a manufactured stone, usually made by 90% or more of natural quartz, mixed with resin and other pigments. Because it’s an industrialized product, it is not porous, unlike many natural stones, which makes it highly resistant to stains caused by liquids such as coffee, oil, or wine.
Quartz Stone is very resistant to scratches, since it was designed to the purpose to be mostly used in kitchens. Therefore, do not worry about using knives on its surface.
